Description
Diethylstilbestrol(DES) is a stilbene anabolic steroid and synthetic estrogen that was banned for use in beef cattle as a precautionary measure in 1979 because of related increased incidence of adenocarcinoma when young girls and pregnant women, were exposed to DES via prescriptions. As a known carcinogen, DES is banned by US and Canada in food producing animals.
