Lab/Manufacturing Production Assistant

JOB BRIEF:

We are looking for a qualified lab assistant and manufacturing production assistant to work part-time at BioFront Technologies. The ideal candidates must be detail-oriented with the ability to work autonomously and under time constraints. Must also be able to work as a team player.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or Equivalent; some additional higher education or concurrent pursuit of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is beneficial.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a laboratory environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):
  • Preparing and assembling materials
  • Labeling bottles for buffers
  • Dispensing buffers into bottles
  • Printing labels using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Package finished products with good manufacturing practices and following standard operating procedures.
  • Shipping finished products
  • Maintain inventory of raw materials
  • Alerting purchasing of low stocks of raw materials/lab supplies
  • Keep detailed production logs of finished products
  • Clean production equipment (wash lab dishes)
  • Clean work areas
HOURS:

10-20 hours per week, flexible scheduling is possible



TITLE:

LFD Scientist

JOB BRIEF:

BioFront Technologies is seeking a creative and highly motivated full-time, Lateral Flow Device Director to join our Food Safety team. We are currently developing diagnostics to improve the accuracy of food allergen detection in various food matrices. The successful candidate will be expected to work with a research associate to quickly complete development and verification studies in the lab as well as proficiency testing.

We are searching for a candidate with strong technical skills and experience in lateral flow device development. The successful candidate must have strong past experience in lateral flow assays and immunoassays to hit the ground running.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must have a degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, biology, immunology, biochemistry or materials with 2 years of experience in diagnostics and lateral flow device manufacturing. The ability to work independently with initiative and creativity is necessary.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


2 years of experience in diagnostics, with focus on lateral flow assays and immunoassays

Experience organizing large studies and working with multiple vendors/collaborators simultaneously

Experience managing and mentoring younger staff

Proven written and oral communication skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (included but not limited to):

Help transition BioFront's line of Food Allergen ELISA kits to lateral flow device format

Verification and validation studies on new devices

Manufacturing optimization of new device

Scaling up production of existing lateral flow devices

Reports to Lead Scientist and President

HOURS:

This is a full-time position with health benefits. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a small, passionate team developing a novel technology.
