NITRATE & NITRITE
Nitrates and nitrites are chemicals used in fertilizers and as food preservatives and are often detected in drinking water, cured meat products as well as in fruits and vegetables. Exposure at high levels can result in severe health issues, particularly in infants, where they can be exposed through drinking water in infant formula.
