Description
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic that is active against certain Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, especially different members of Mycoplasma spp.Tylosin is a mixture of four macrolide antibiotics where the main component of the mixture (> 80%) is Tylosin A. The use of Tylosin requires an order from a licensed veterinarian to authorize its use to combat American Foubrood Disease in honey production but no residue tolerances are established by the FDA. The Canadian MRL for Tylosin in honey is 2 ppm (Tylosin A and B).
