THE MONOTRACE ADVANTAGE
BioFront Technologies has developed the first comprehensive line of monoclonal antibody-based ELISA assay kits (MonoTrace ELISAs) for the detection of food allergen contamination in various food samples and on environmental surfaces. The MonoTrace Soy ELISA incorporates the use of a precisely defined set of handpicked monoclonal antibodies selected after a rigorous screening process for their ability to:
- Target a highly stable Soy allergen resistant to food processing effects
- Recognize a carefully selected target protein to eliminate cross-reactivity and reduce the possibility of 'false positive' results
- Perform well in a wide variety of food products with negligible food matrix interference
CROSS-REACTIVITY
The assay exhibits strong reactivity to soy (Glycine max). At concentrations as high as 100,000 ppm Chick pea/garbanzo bean (0.0060%), garfava flour (0.0025%), peanut (0.0017%) and lentils (0.0010%) were minimally cross-reactive. No cross-reactivity was observed in other matrices tested including a large panel of tree nuts, legumes, seeds, flours, meats and spices.
RECOVERY
Recovery of spiked soy samples at various concentrations was efficient (>79%) when the following food matrices were assayed: chocolate, cereals, breads, and cake.
